Practice 05 · Co-Build, Co-Operate & Fly

Founder Injection

We support creators who are too busy to do the plumbing of starting up. We take the friction, the technology and the innovation domain of more, faster and better — so the founder can focus on the true things that build a business.

The Programme

Three years. Then we hand you the keys.

Founder Injection is a three-year programme covering the three hardest stages of a company’s life: getting off the ground, building the walls, and opening the doors. At the end of it we transfer the whole structure to you — with a trained team, consolidated networks and the expertise gleaned from mentorship by our experienced team.

You keep your attention on the five things no consultant can do for you.

  • Courage — the decisions only a founder can take.
  • Curiosity — staying close to the customer and the problem.
  • Creativity — the product idea that makes the business worth building.
  • Compassion — the team and the community you are building for.
  • Communication — the story that raises money and wins customers.

Companies at all stages benefit from the intensity of IALE. That is probably the best word to describe the atmosphere. In that atmosphere it is hard not to be highly motivated — and that kind of extraordinary motivation is what one needs to do something as difficult as starting and running their own thing.

The Goal

Dramatically better shape, nine months later

The overall goal of Founder Injection is to help founders see their entrepreneurial visions take off. Founders partner with IALE at different stages of conception. Some ideas are still inside the human. Some have not started working yet. Others have launched but cannot scale. Whatever stage the business is at when they arrive, our goal is to have them in dramatically better shape nine months later.

A better product, with more users

For most businesses this is the first measure of better shape. We build the technology and the operating process behind the product so the founder can spend the nine months on customers rather than on plumbing.

More options for raising money

The second measure. A business with working systems, clean numbers and a demonstrable pipeline has choices when it goes to a funder — and choices are what determine the terms.

Current Projects

Businesses under injection

Three ventures are in the programme now, at different stages and in different sectors.

The Fixa247 mobile application — on-demand maintenance and trades booking

Fixa247

Founder & CEO · Mbali Masenye

An on-demand platform connecting households and businesses to verified trades professionals — electricians, plumbers, painters, carpenters and more — matched to the customer, tracked to the door and paid securely. IALE designed and built the application, the provider onboarding and the job management behind it, so the founder could concentrate on building the artisan network and the demand side of the market.

Kuruman Reptile Park

Conservation Enterprise · Northern Cape

The Northern Cape’s first reptilian zoological facility, delivered on a Launch–Operate–Transfer basis for the John Taolo Gaetsewe Developmental Trust. IALE built the operating systems, recruited and trained the staff, established the permit and compliance architecture with the provincial conservation authority, and runs the facility to stability before handing it to a local team.

Architectural design of the Motheo Technical Training Centre in Mothibistad, Northern Cape

Motheo Technical Training Centre — Mothibistad

Founder & CEO · Banny Motshabi

A grassroots skills centre established to create employment and entrepreneurship in the electricity sector for the Northern Cape. A proliferation of renewable energy plants and growing economic activity has raised demand for reliable electricity infrastructure, yet the region experiences a severe skills shortage and an absence of certified electricians able to participate in the mining value chain. Motheo exists to close that gap.
